I'm thrilled to share that Shannon Dougall will be joining Helcim’s executive team as our very first Chief Growth Officer.
Seeing our team evolve and reach new heights is one of the most rewarding parts of building Helcim. Adding a CGO role has been something we’ve carefully considered, and now is the perfect time as we accelerate our growth across Canada and the US.
Scaling our company
Helcim’s growth channels operate at high velocity, with a strong emphasis on self-service needs of our small and medium-sized merchants. Our growth comes from a wide-range of integrated initiatives, driven forward by the collective energy of our entire team. As we continue to scale, it became clear we needed a dedicated leader to strategically unify these GTM efforts, ensuring we continue to deliver amazing, cohesive experiences for our merchants at every touchpoint.
Finding our person
Finding the right person for this pivotal role was crucial. We were looking for a leader with proven experience in exactly this type of high-velocity, marketing-and-product-led growth environment. We needed someone strategic, data-driven, and deeply committed to the customer journey.
I’m delighted to say we found that leader in Shannon Dougall. She will be working closely with our existing stellar GTM leaders across Marketing, Partnerships, Sales, Success and Support, helping to orchestrate our collective efforts as we pursue our mission to become the world's most loved payments company. Shannon brings an incredible wealth of experience – over 30 years in sales and marketing leadership roles within the technology sector, starting back in 1996 with Corel Corporation. Her impressive background includes time at companies like IBM, Shift CRM, and Uberflip. More recently, she has been instrumental in driving growth at rapidly scaling tech companies, including Tugboat Logic (which was acquired by OneTrust) and ZayZoon.
Beyond the resume
Beyond her resume, what truly stood out is Shannon’s strategic and holistic approach to go-to-market strategy. She has a deep understanding of building growth engines designed for predictable scale, grounded in disciplined, data-informed decision-making. She focuses on the end-to-end customer experience, ensuring that every interaction aligns with our goals and, most importantly, serves our merchants well. She understands the need to tailor strategies specifically for Helcim's unique opportunities, testing and refining as we go – thinking big, acting small, and moving fast.
Just as importantly, Shannon is a people-focused leader and a great coach. Her approach aligns perfectly with Helcim's people-first culture, and I know she will be a fantastic addition, contributing positively from day one. Originally from Ottawa, Shannon now calls Calgary home and will be joining our team right here at our Calgary HQ.

Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue our fast-paced growth and strive to serve even more businesses across North America and beyond.
