Visa/MasterCard's Website Requirements

In order to meet Visa and MasterCard's policies for online processing (E-Commerce), your website must meet the requirements detailed below. During the application process, these can be in a development environment.
  • Merchant operating name (DBA) is displayed on the website.
  • List country of permanent establishment en route to checkout.
  • List your products or service offerings clearly with prices and descriptions.
  • Display your full Return/Refund/Cancellation policy to your customers.
  • Show a physical address for customer correspondence (should not be a P.O. box).
  • Webpage where customer payment information is entered is secured with a valid SSL certificate.

While not required, the additional suggestions below will help you create an optimal customer experience and help reduce exposure to chargebacks:

  • Post customer service phone number or email address on your site.
  • Display your Privacy Policy clearly.
  • Advise customers on what to expect for delivery method and timing.
  • Include a statement about known tariffs, export taxes, or any other applicable restrictions.
  • Display the logos for the Card Brands you accept (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc).

When your application is approved, Helcim will notify you at that time if your website is non-compliant. You then have 60 days to bring your website into compliance. You can contact us at help@helcim.com or 1-877-643-5246 if you need assistance, or when you're ready to have your website reviewed for compliance.

Once we've checked your website and everything looks good, the conditional approval will be removed. These requirements are mandated by the Card Brands and are important. If your website remains non-compliant after 60 days, your processed funds will be held pending website compliance. After 90 days, your account could be closed. Please don't delay, and as always, get in touch with us if you have any questions.
