Fees Listed On Agreement Form - Canada

If you look through your agreement you will see some other fees that may have not been mentioned during your sales call or mentioned on the website. These fees are mostly per occurrence or one-time fees and are generally quite rare. For more information pertaining to each of these charges, please continue reading:

PCI Program Fee: We do not charge this fee.

 

Wireless Monthly Fee: This monthly fee will only incur if you are using a wireless terminal that requires a SIM card and a data package.

 

Voice Authorization with AVS: This is a good tool to use if the merchant suspects a fraudulent card is being used. The Address Verification System (AVS) is a system used to verify the address of a person claiming to own a credit card. The system will check the billing address of the credit card provided by the user with the address on file at the credit card company.

 

Voice Referral: This fee would incur if the issuing bank wants to talk directly with the customer at the time of the transaction. A referral is a prompted by the issuing bank. The customer must call voice authorizations who will then connect the customer and card holder to the issuing bank. This message is driven by the issuing bank, and not Elavon. This is a very rare occurrence.

 

Voice Operator Assisted: This will only be charged if the issuing bank has a problem with the transaction, they may request additional information, or they make want you to destroy the card (fraudulent transaction/code 10). This is a very rare occurrence. The message on your terminal would be “call for auth”.

 

Monthly Service Fee: This is one of the only monthly fees you will see. This fee covers the following:

  • Certified Merchant Account
  • PCI Compliance Program
  • 24/7 Telephone Tech Support
  • Online Reporting
  • 2 Day Bank Deposits
  • Complimentary Virtual Terminal
  • Complimentary Mobile App

 

DDA Change Fee: This fee is charged when you want to update the bank account (direct deposit account – DDA) associated with your merchant account.

 

DBA Change Fee: You will be charged this fee if ever need to update the doing-business-as (DBA) name as it appears on your receipts.

 

Chargeback Fee: A chargeback (or retrieval) fee applies when a cardholder or issuing bank disputes a transaction. You are provided the opportunity to address the dispute with a written response and documentation. The merchant account provider mediates the dispute with the issuing bank and charges this fee to do so.

 

Application Fee: We do not charge this fee.
