American Express, Discover Card & JCB
Accepting American Express
American Express (Amex) has millions of active Cardmembers nationwide and is one of the most popular cards for business purchases. Merchants who are already accepting American Express and wish to switch their processing over to Helcim should notify their Helcim agent upon signup. Your American Express Service Establishment (SE) number will remain the same, and Helcim will simply take over the role of authorizing your American Express payments.
New merchants looking to add Amex to their accepted card choices will need to first register with American Express as a merchant. Registration can be performed online using the link below. Once your business has been provided with a new American Express Service Establishment (SE) number, contact your Helcim agent to update your processing platform.
Unlike many competitors, Helcim does not surcharge the discount rate of American Express transactions. Amex transactions authorized through Helcim's retail and online platforms are only subject to the same per-item transaction fee as other card types. American Express will continue to bill and fund merchants directly for their transactions.
Discover Card & JCB
Discover Card is a credit card issued primarily in the United States. Although uncommon in Canada, the Discover Network has made recent commitment to increase the number both cardholders and merchants in the coming years. To learn more about accepting Discover cards, contact us today.
In 2006, the Discover Network entered into a strategic alliance with JCB (Japan Credit Bureau). The relationship enables reciprocal acceptance of JCB cards at merchant locations on the Discover Network. Helcim merchants who are setup to accept Discover Card transactions are automatically able to accept JCB card payments.
