Nicolas Beique Founder & CEO

Nicolas Beique is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Helcim. Passionate about programming from a young age, Nicolas launched a series of companies, including a web design firm, a 3D sales platform, and a local social media website before turning his attention to his idea of an online credit card processing company with a built-in shopping cart.

His goal was to deliver a better payment experience and better tools to merchants who just want to run their business. Today, Helcim serves thousands of merchants in Canada and the US and has built a reputation for being a friendly and transparent payment processor.

Nicolas was the lead developer on the company’s first software launch, Helcim Commerce. He has been recognized for his contributions to the payment industry and tech as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Prairies Technology overall category winner in 2018 and as a member of the Avenue Calgary Top 40 Under 40 class of 2019.

Rob Park Chief Operating Officer

Rob Park is the Chief Operating Officer at Helcim. He provides the support, sales, and operations departments with the tools and guidance they need to meet the needs of Helcim’s merchants.

Prior to joining Helcim, Rob applied his bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and relationship-building skills into growing a successful real estate partnership in Calgary. He joined Helcim in 2016, bringing his love of people, business processes, and team building to the company.

Marjorie Junio-Read Chief Financial Officer

Marjorie Junio-Read is the Chief Financial Officer at Helcim. As CFO, she manages the financial operations at Helcim to ensure prudent fiscal management of company finances and strategic planning for future growth.

Prior to joining Helcim, Marjorie was Treasury Manager for a multinational oil and gas company. As Treasury Manager, she was responsible for overseeing the corporate finance, treasury accounting and treasury operations duties of her team in addition to management responsibilities. She holds a degree in finance from the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) ® Charterholder.

Brett Popkey Chief Technology Officer

Brett Popkey is the Chief Technology Officer at Helcim, a payments company that makes it faster, easier, and more affordable for businesses to get paid. Brett is responsible for Helcim’s technology and development vision, including the company’s software, hardware, and systems requirements.

He has been a long-standing member of Helcim’s Development Team. In addition to creating the foundation for how Helcim builds its user interface and development framework. Brett was instrumental in the development of Helcim’s ecommerce, billing, and authentication systems. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an IT diploma with a major in Software Development.

No! You can close your account anytime without any penalty and there are no hidden fees. You never again have to worry about setup fees, termination fees, quarterly fees, PCI & non-compliance fees, customer service fees, or bank deposit fees.

Deposits will appear in your bank account within 2 business days, depending on the time of day that your transactions are settled. Transactions processed over the weekend or bank holidays are initialized for deposit on the following business day. Your daily transactions are batched together, and deposited to your bank account net of processing fees.

The Helcim Shop is built right into your account dashboard, and is accessible immediately after signing up. You can order card readers, stands, printers and more directly from there.

Shipping is free and takes 2-3 business days via FedEx or UPS ground. Any equipment purchases are charged to your bank account on file. We do not currently offer rentals nor payment plans.

No! You can use your existing bank account, provided by your financial institution or credit union. Sole proprietors can use a personal bank account. Incorporated business and partnerships are required to use a business bank account
