Accel is a PIN-debit network operated by Fiserv. Rates vary by merchant category and card tier — Base, Advantage (Premium), and Assurance (Super Premium).
Armed Forces Financial Network (AFFN) is the PIN-debit network serving military banking institutions. Rates are organized by merchant category with separate pinless bill pay and internet PIN tiers.
ATH is the primary debit card network in Puerto Rico. Rates are percentage-based with special tiers for grocery, petroleum, financial services, and small ticket transactions.
CU-24 is a credit-union-focused PIN-debit network. Rates are structured by merchant category with separate internet PIN and pinless bill pay tiers.
Interac is Canada's national debit network but is also routed for some US cross-border transactions. The POS interchange is zero, with only small contactless (Flash) fees and QSR rates applying.
Interlink is Visa's PIN-debit network for point-of-sale transactions. Rates include standard, supermarket, fuel, business, and pre-paid card tiers with separate international rates.
Maestro is Mastercard's PIN-debit network. Rates are structured by merchant tier — General, Supermarket, and Convenience — with separate internet PIN and cross-border fees.
NYCE is a regional PIN-debit network operated by Fiserv. It features tiered interchange for POS, pinless bill pay across seven tiers (A through G), and separate premium interchange for enhanced cards.
NETS is a PIN-debit network primarily serving community banks. Rates are organized by merchant category with standard retail, supermarket, QSR, and petroleum tiers.
Pulse is a PIN-debit network operated by Discover Financial Services. Rates include standard POS tiers, Pulse Pay Limited (pre-paid) tiers, and pinless bill pay categories.
Shazam is a PIN-debit network serving community banks and credit unions primarily in the Midwest. Rates are tiered by merchant category with separate business debit and internet PIN rates.
Star is a major PIN-debit network operated by First Data (Fiserv). It has extensive merchant category tiers including medical retailers, bill pay, and a full Star Preferred (premium) schedule.
UnionPay is China's national bankcard association. US-routed UnionPay debit transactions carry simple percentage-based rates with no switch fees.
Regulated debit cards (issued by banks with over $10 billion in assets) are capped under the Durbin Amendment. The maximum regulated interchange rate is 0.05% + $0.21, or 0.05% + $0.22 with Fraud Adjustment (FA).
