Many businesses rely on specialized software to manage day-to-day operations like patient intake, appointments, shop management, and more. In many cases, these platforms offer limited payment processing options, making it harder for businesses to choose the pricing and payment experience that works best for them.

Today, Helcim is introducing Payment Extension, a new browser-based integration that allows businesses to accept Helcim payments directly within their existing cloud software.

No migrations. No APIs. No development required.

What is the Helcim Payment Extension?

The Helcim Payment Extension is a no-code, browser extension that connects Helcim’s payments platform to popular vSaaS tools. Once installed, the extension works directly inside supported web applications, allowing merchants to process payments without leaving their workflow. The extension currently supports 20+ platforms, including practice management, field service, and accounting software, with new platforms added regularly. Additional platforms can be requested through the Helcim Integration Marketplace.

How it works - no coding required

  1. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store
  2. Log in with your Helcim account
  3. Open your existing business software and follow the prompts on the extension to connect your Helcim account.
  4. Accept payments without leaving your business software
  5. The extension automatically detects invoice information and customer details from the page and pushes the transaction to the Virtual Terminal for keyed payments or with a Helcim payment hardware such as the Smart Terminal or Card Reader if you want to accept tap, chip and PIN, or contactless payments.

What businesses can do with the Payment Extension

✔️ Accept online and in-person payments inside your existing software

Process keyed, online, and in-person payments directly within the tools your team already uses—without switching platforms or workflows.

✔️ Expand payment options for software that was previously limited

Add in-person card payments with Helcim’s Card Reader or Smart Terminal, even in software that traditionally only supports online or keyed payments.

✔️ Reduce manual work and errors

Eliminate exporting invoices, re-entering totals, and reconciling payments across systems.

✔️ Use Helcim pricing—without additional fees

The Payment Extension is included with your Helcim account at no additional cost. Merchants only pay per transaction using Helcim’s Interchange-Plus pricing, and businesses that switch to Helcim save up to 25% on processing fees on average compared to flat-rate pricing models. Even better, you can save more with Fee Saver—a built-in feature of the extension that allows you to pass on credit card processing fees to customers when they pay using your Helcim payment hardware.

Built for flexibility

The Payment Extension works seamlessly across a wide range of browser-based platforms, allowing Helcim to process payments directly where your team already works. This gives businesses more control over how they accept payments—without compromising on the software they depend on.
