Need to process payments without creating an invoice? POS mode lets you accept custom payment amounts, combined totals, and payments that don’t originate from your third-party software, directly within the Extension.
How it works with Helcim
The Helcim Payment Extension processes payments through Helcim while QuickBooks Online continues to manage invoices, customers, and accounting records. Payments are initiated inside QuickBooks Online using a Chrome extension and are recorded in the Helcim dashboard for reporting and deposits. This extension supports card-present and manually keyed credit card payments only and does not support ACH payments or online invoice payment links. Refunds or payment changes made outside QuickBooks Online may require manual updates. Invoice currency must match your Helcim account currency.Note: If you are using the QuickBooks Online direct invoice integration alongside the Payment Extension, invoices may appear duplicated in your Helcim account. This does not affect your QuickBooks Online records, where invoices remain accurate and are not duplicated.The Extension currently does not support multi-invoice payments or bulk payments. The invoice transactions need to be 1:1.
Requirements
Setup
Create a free Helcim account. If you already have one, you can skip this step.
Install the Helcim Payment Extension to your browser from the Chrome Store.
Follow the guide that appears after downloading the extension. It will prompt you to log in to your Helcim account to sync the extension, and then select a currency.
If you have a Card Reader Gen 3 or Smart Terminal, you can pair it by copy-pasting your 4-digit device code onto your Payment Extensions tab in Quickbooks Online.
