I’m Mike, the Product Manager for HelcimPay.js, and I’m excited to share what we’ve been working on!
Let’s be real—no one wakes up excited to deal with payments. For most businesses, it’s just a step in the process, something you have to do to get paid. But we believe payments should be more than that. When done right, they should feel seamless, save you time, build trust with your customers, and even help your business grow.
That’s why we’ve upgraded HelcimPay.js—our low-code payment solution designed to make accepting payments online easier for businesses of all sizes. It’s part of our broader suite of payment tools, built to support businesses with varying needs and technical expertise—because no two businesses are the same, and your payment solution shouldn’t be either.
A payment solution built for every business
We spend a lot of time talking to small business owners, and we hear the same challenges over and over:
-
“I don’t have a developer. I just need something simple to collect payments.” We built the Helcim Payment Page—a no-code solution that lets you set up a hosted page in minutes.
-
“Our business needs an easy-to-deploy, configurable payment option that still fits our brand.” That’s where HelcimPay.js comes in—a low-code modal that balances simplicity with customization, giving businesses and developers an easy way to integrate payments.
-
“We want a fully customized checkout experience tailored to our exact needs.” For that, we have Helcim’s API—a set of flexible developer tools that let you build a completely custom checkout experience.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all payment solutions. Whether you need a simple hosted checkout, a plug-and-play payment modal, or full API access, we’ve got the tools to support your business.
Why we redesigned embedded payments
We didn’t just decide to refresh HelcimPay.js for the sake of it—we built this upgrade based on feedback from the people who use it every day. Here’s what we heard:
- Developers loved the simplicity of our pre-built modal but wanted more flexibility to match their brand—custom colors, logos, and even button text.
- Merchants struggled with abandoned carts because customers had to manually enter payment details instead of using mobile wallets like Google Pay.
So, we went back to the drawing board and redesigned HelcimPay.js to make payments not just functional, but exceptional.
What’s new in HelcimPay.js
We didn’t just tweak a few features—we made some major improvements:
- A larger, flexible modal – A checkout experience that looks great across all devices, from desktops to smartphones.
- Google Pay integration – In addition to accepting credit cards and ACH, customers can now pay instantly with Google Pay, reducing friction and cart abandonment.
- Branding that’s uniquely yours – Add logos, customize colors, and toggle dark mode. Even tailor button text to fit your needs—whether it’s “Pay Now,” “Donate,” or “Subscribe.”
- Pre-built payment confirmation screens – No extra work required. Your customers will see a clean, professional confirmation screen after every payment.
- Simplified payment method management – Customers can easily set default payment methods or hide stored details, creating a smoother experience.
- Save on costs – Enable the option to pass credit card processing fees to customers, helping your business reduce transaction costs.
